Why do you need save the date card?

Many brides are using save the date cards to give wedding guests notification of their upcoming wedding. The card, which precedes your wedding invitation allows your guests to make the necessary arrangements to attend the wedding with plenty of time to spare.

The cards are typically mailed six to nine months ahead of your wedding date.  In some cases, especially a destination wedding or if your wedding revolves around a major holiday, they may be sent a year in advance. 

This assures that your guests can make air reservations and purchase tickets for lower fares if purchased in advanced.

The wording for your card should be short and sweet and get to the point. Here is how a simple save the date should read:

Please save the date of
